Kindergarten Teachers! Tips for Entering Quarter 2 Skill Grades

 

💥💥 Attention Kindergarten Teachers!! 💥💥

Nothing has changed about the way you enter Skill Grades or Comments for Quarter 2 -- EXCEPT that you may now COPY skills for students that you have entered for Quarter 1. I am posting a link below with directions on how you can do this. The copy skills feature allows you to quickly assess how the student has performed since Quarter 1 and then change the grade for Quarter 2 if needed.

Some Random Yet Helpful Tips...

 Now that we have Quarter 1 under our belts (whew!) lets take a look at some exciting "fluff" that is available to you in Skyward. New Teachers; you've successfully made it through your first quarter here at Wayne - Congratulations! Lets take a few minutes to discover a few things that Skyward can offer. And for those experienced teachers; hopefully there is something new for your to discover as well!

✅ Tip #1: Prefer a high contrast view of your gradebook? Check out these simple instructions to switch to High Contrast Borders.

✅ Tip #2a:  Did you know that you could add/edit email addresses of your student's parents/guardians? It's easy-peasy! Check out those directions HERE

💥 Tip #2b: Do you want a quick view of whose parent/guardian email addresses might be missing? Check out directions HERE to run a report for your classes!

✅ Tip #3: If you haven't noticed it on the Teacher Access main screen ... here are directions on how you can print mailing labels for your classes! 

 

Welcome Back! AAAnnnnnddddd Progress 2 Reports Already!

 Hopefully you enjoyed a well-deserved Fall Break! While it doesn't seem possible already -- the end of the Progress Report 2 is just two weeks away on Friday, November 5th! 

Secondary Teachers: Be on the lookout for information from your building on when you should have your grades up to date.

Elementary Teachers: Remember you can run an Enhanced Multi-Class Progress Report to either email or print for students/parents.

We are just over two weeks away from the end of Quarter 1! I'll be sharing a few tips between now and then. 💥First I just want remind ELEMENTARY teachers that when you enter your comments -- they should be entered in your HOMEROOM class! They will NOT display on report cards if entered in another class. 💥

Also -- did you know that you can nickname your classes in your gradebook? This is especially helpful for special area teachers, as well as 5th and 6th grade teachers who may be departmentalizing this year.
